Boogie Wonder Band Wows Jasper Audience

The Boogie Wonder Band gave a sensational show on Saturday night. Imagine an entire audience of Jasperites on their feet motioning to the song "YMCA". It was an awesome sight!

We all loved the songs and the music of the disco era. The performers and musicians never seemed to run out of energy and played for nearly two hours without a break. They even did a special encore for me which included my favorite disco song, "I believe in Miracles!" Of course! I even got out on stage and danced a bit for that tune. (Sorry, no pix for that one.)

We've already had requests to bring the BWB back. SOON! This was a great event of light and sound and dance. Thanks, Boogie Wonder Band!

Corina and Juan Decorate the Calumet for the Fund Raiser

We're planning a fundraiser event in partnership with Friends of the Arts. This is the first time we've had a separate event and thought to carry on the theme of the evening after tomorrow's show of the Boogie Wonder Band. Friends board members Jeanne Campbell and Ann Hilgeford were a big help in creating and decorating the famous Calumet Inn for the after-event party.

Our Program Coordinator, Corina and her husband Juan were found decorating before the big show.

Doktor Kaboom Entertains on Family Fun Series

For the last Family Fun Show of the season, Doktor Kaboom entertained with a show of science and comedy. Both adults and children enjoyed his hi jinx. And...Lucas caught the banana!

We had people of all ages posing with the Doktor Kaboom cutout before the show including a Brownie Troupe. After the show, our guests lined up for autographs and photo shoots.

The following day we had THREE school shows with a total of over 1,000 children! Whew! But everyone had a great time and want Doktor K to come back soon.
